It’s Harvest Time!

Harvest is such a special time for SCM, and we are so grateful for all of the schools that choose to celebrate Harvest by collecting donations for our Food Projects: Basics Banks and Marketplaces.

Our Schools work actually began with an Assembly nearly 20 years ago, and every year the SCM Schools Team prepares a big, interactive Harvest Assembly to deliver to schools in and around the city. In 2025/26 the SCM were part of 35 School Harvest Festival celebrations!

SCM Schools

Southampton City Mission has been delivering schools work for over 20 years. We have an excellent track record of working flexibly with schools to serve their needs, whether that is a 15 minute Anti-Bullying Assembly, or leading 90 pupils through a whole Question of Faith RE day looking at the theme of “Jesus’ Miracles”.

Many schools struggle with meeting the legal requirements for RE, recognising that this curriculum subject is unlike any other. It is not like Maths, Science, or Literacy; RE is a Question of Faith. During the 2025/26 academic year, SCM Schools visited 52 schools, delivered 70 Assemblies, 204 Question of Faith days, and handed out 1136 “It’s Your Move” Transition Support Booklets to Year 6 Pupils moving on to Year 7.
