Project Overview
Basics Bank
In order to receive food and / or clothing help from our Basics Bank, clients must be issued with a voucher from one of our many Referral Agents, who are able to determine how and when emergency provision is needed to help people through short-term crises and problems that they encounter.
Once issued with a food voucher, a client can redeem it at any of our food venues on the day(s) they are open, or for help with clothes, in order to offer maximum choice to clients, we have one clothes venue which opens on Fridays.
Marketplace
The Marketplace is a membership scheme for local people who want to benefit from access to affordable, fresh, healthy food in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Each of our Marketplaces are run by a team of local volunteers who build relationships with members, are available to talk over a tea or coffee, and provide assistance with food choices if required.
You do not need to be referred to become a member, but you must live at a postcode in the area local to each Marketplace.
Schools Work
We visit 50+ schools across the region every academic year, delivering dynamic, interactive themed Assemblies, bespoke Question of Faith RE days, Transition workshops, and tailored support creating, cultivating, and curating Prayer Spaces.
You can invite one of our trained teams to visit your setting by phoning the office on 02380 550 435 or by emailing the schools team on:

Client Feedback
“I’d like to say that over the years, we’ve seen so many of our Monday volunteers flourish, and discover talents they never knew they had, listening to distraught clients, and showing them love and care. Some coming out of their shell and gaining confidence talking to clients
And also being there for each other when going through difficult times.
Love this work so much!!”
“I enjoy talking to the clients in basics bank and love working with all the volunteers”
“Volunteering gives me a sense of purpose and a sense of belonging. The purpose comes from being able to give to those who are in greatest need. The belonging comes from being a member of a loving, courageous and gentle team.”
Volunteering Opportunities
We are a charity helping to create opportunities, and equip others to do the work of God’s Kingdom. This means that for the bulk or our work, we depend on our brilliant, diverse, and hard working team of volunteers.
We offer volunteer taster days, as well as ongoing training & support, a great team atmosphere, and rewarding opportunities to make real difference in our community.
